Harley Davidson Charity Tournament

Whoever said that “poker players were nothing but greedy, gambling addicted people who thought about nothing but their own financial gain,” probably never actually left the confines of their own home. If you take a moment to look you will see charity tournament after charity tournament. During the political national conventions this year, you had the Poker Players Alliance hosting a tournament during each convention that went to benefit Paralyzed Veterans of America. During the World Series of Poker you had Annie Duke and Don Cheadle host the famous charity tournament Ante Up For Africa, which always brings out a nice crowd.

Well now you can add one more to the list on November 8 at the Red Rock Harley Davidson in Las Vegas, NV. Harley Davidson is going to be opening up a brand new store right near the Red Rock Canyons and they will be hosting a three-day party event that starts on November 7 and ends on November 9. The main attraction is going to be a celebrity charity poker tournament hosted by the great Hoyt Corkins. This tournament will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The tournament is going to hold a $500 entry fee, but if you do not want to pay the full $500 you can take your chances starting on November 7 when single table satellites will begin. The top prize at the tournament is not going to be a cash prize, but if you do win, you will receive a brand new 2008 105th-Anniversary Edition Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Curtis & Co. watch. The winner will also receive a trophy that is going to be designed by Legacy Alliance, Inc.

The tournament is open to the public and should hold a large field seeing how there is a long list of celebrities and poker pros a like who will be joining in this tournament. Some of the poker pros that will be joining are Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson, Brad Booth, Phil Hellmuth, Lee Watkinson, Chip and Karina Jett. Also World Series of Poker Main Event final tablists Dennis Phillips and David “Chino” Rheem.

The poker tournament is not taking place at the Red Rock Casino. It’s taking place at the brand new 104,000 square foot Harley-Davidson showroom located at 2600 S. Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada 89117. This is just one of the attractions and we expect about 5,000 people to attend this annual festival. This is the first year they’ve hosted a charity poker tournament. The local showroom is named Red Rock Harley-Davidson.
