PokerStars working on Upgrade to Mac Client

Recommend this!

pokerstars_macupgradeAs many players know, PokerStars is widely considered the industry leader when it comes to both traffic and software. But this certainly doesn’t mean that PokerStars is one to sit on laurels because the site’s product is constantly improving. This being said, let’s take a closer look at an upgrade Stars is making on their Mac client, some other software improvements, and current promotions running at this poker room – read the pokerstars review.

Visual Table Customization

Whether you’re changing deck colors, the table felt, or your player box, it’s always nice to have a visual before changes take place. And this is where the visual table customization addition that PokerStars is adding to their Mac client will really help. This process isn’t quite completed just yet, but Stars is hoping to have it done soon.

They released a statement about the matter that read, “Changes would only take effect once your gaming client has been updated, which could happen at different times for different players. Please ensure you are running PokerStarsUpdate.exe to get the update.”

Other Recent Software Changes

Aside from the Mac client upgrade that’s currently in the works, there are several other software improvements that PokerStars has either completed or is almost finished with. Here is a quick look at some of the changes you can expect to see at the world’s largest poker room:

Chat Emoticons – Like most sites, Stars already provides players with a decent amount of emoticons such as a crying face, smiley face, surprised face and wink face. However, they’ve been adding a number of other emoticons and signs such as a donkey, fish, heart, thumbs-up, thumbs-down, shark and a money stack. Anybody who enjoys being expressive with their online poker chatting should definitely appreciate these changes.

Main Lobby Filters – It’s already fairly easy to find what poker games you’re looking for at PokerStars. But it’s gotten even easier now since the site has given players the ability to text-search tournaments outside of the search field, and added a “Show registering/upcoming” button.

New Deck Colors – One change that players can expect to see in the future at Stars is new playing decks. At this point, it’s unclear exactly what colors will be offered, but word is that they’ll feature a cleaner and easy-to-read design.

Current PokerStars Promotions

If you’re interested in earning lots of rewards and bonuses at PokerStars, you’ll be happy to know that this site runs a wide range of promotions. Below you will find some of their popular current promos:

Players’ Choice Satellites – Those who long to play for glory and cash in live poker tournaments can book their ticket through the Players’ Choice satellites. There’s a main qualifier every Wednesday at 16:05 ET and the buy-in is €215. Players who are looking for a cheaper route to the qualifier can find Players’ Choice satellites that go as low as €2.20. Prize packages take players to European Poker Tour, Eureka Poker Tour and France Poker Series events.

PCA Mega Path Satellites – Another intriguing live tournament promo involves 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) Mega Path satellites. What’s great about these satellites is that players have a shot to win a prize package for the cost of 4 Frequent Player Points. Satellites run until the end of 2012, and winners will have their 2013 PCA Main Event buy-in, hotel and travel expenses paid for. As for last year’s PCA, there was a $10.4 million prize pool up for grabs, and amateur John Dibella won the tourney and $1,775,000.

PokerStars Signup Bonus – In order to secure this site’s top signup bonus offer of 100% up to $600 on your first deposit, you should sign up at Sign up at PokerStars through our link. Also, don’t forget to use the “MPONLINE” code so you are sure to get the bonus.

Sunday Million – Every Sunday at 14:30 ET, you can participate in online poker’s largest weekly tournament in the Sunday Million. This event features a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, and the winner always walks away with at least $150,000. The regular buy-in is $215 while you can also find satellites that are as cheap as $2.20.

Zoom Poker – Want to play online poker without waiting on others to make decisions? Then you should definitely try Zoom Poker, which cuts out waiting time by whisking you away to another table as soon as your action in a hand is completed. Zoom Poker will allow you to play hundreds of extra hands per hour and avoid any boredom that arises when waiting on other players.

  1. Online Player News

As a Mac user myself, I was delighted to read about the imminent software upgrades PokerStars are making to their platform. For a long time, Mircosoft users have experienced the best user interface and it is about time things changed. I like the fact that new chat emoticons have been integrated in order to make playing more interactive and hopefully I will now be able to access some regular bonuses- particularly for the Sunday Millions event.
