Norway FlagNorwegian law has placed burdens on people who wish to host poker tournaments where the players are competing for real money, so the Expekt.com Norwegian Poker Championship will now be held at the Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham, England. Expekt.com will charter planes to ferry the nearly 500 player from Norway to England for the tournaments. The events that have forced the Norwegian Poker Championship, which is currently in its seventh year, will make this year’s competition even more intriguing and worthy of attention. In fact, a documentary is in the works to chronicle the uniqueness that will be the 2008 Norwegian Poker Championship.

The Norwegian Poker Championship will last for eight days, with two to three events per day, and will culminate in the £500 No Limit Holdem Main Event. The winner of the main event will win a trip to the WSOP Main Event in addition to the first place prize money. The Norwegian Poker Championship will run from April 28th through May 5th. The buy-ins for the events range from £50 up to £500 with many different variations of Holdem and Omaha being played, no limit, pot limit, fixed limit, deep stacks, rebuys, and more.

The main event will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5th.
