November Nine’s fight against MS

Recommend this!

With the World Series of Pokers Main Event final table inching closer and closer, one final table participant is using his new found fame to their fullest potential. The player whom I am referring to is none other than the chip leader Dennis Phillips.

Dennis Phillips has teamed up with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of the St. Louis chapter to help raise money for the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. The reason for Dennis involvement in this particular fight is because almost a decade ago his own brother was diagnosed with unfortunate disease and when asked about his involvement Dennis responded, “Being on the Final Table of WSOP is an opportunity of a lifetime, but we hope that this opportunity will one day save someones life.”

During the World Series of Poker Dennis took the opportunity to register for the organization “Put a bad beat on cancer” which was organized by Phil Gordon and Dennis Phillips has agreed to donate 1% of his final table winnings to the organization. When Dennis was approached by PokerStars for a possible sponsorship offer with them, Dennis made it a serious point that if he decides to sign with them he needed a guarantee that PokerStars would match his donation 100% and PokerStars happily agreed. Dennis Phillips is now apart of the PokerStars family.

The biggest news headline though is that Dennis Phillips and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society have started an auction on ebay which will give the winning bidder a ten-square-inch logo location which would then be displayed throughout Dennis Phillips televised World Series of Poker final table appearance. The location in which the winning bidder will receive will be located on Dennis Phillips upper right arm and all advertising logo’s will need to be approved by Dennis Phillips, ESPN and the World Series of Poker. The auction started on October 16th and will run through October 26th and it is expected to reach well into $20,000. If you would like to watch the progress of the auction the auction number is #290268147259.
