Democrat says expect a pro-online gambling bill

Barney FrankCongressman Barney Frank announced that he will introduce a pro-online gambling bill tomorrow (April 26th). If the bill passes, it will lift the previous ban on U.S. online poker.

The current law prevents US banks from processing payments with companies directly associated with online gambling, like Neteller and Firepay. Although many players are uninfected by this and still deposit and withdrawal using newer methods, it puts our hobby into a grey area with the law and discourages new players.

Barney Frank believes that online poker is a “victimless crime”. He says, “Why anyone thinks it is any of my business why some adult wants to gamble is absolutely beyond me.”
