First WSOPE Braclet Awarded to European

World Series of Poker EuropeThe World Series of Poker Europe is already setting records, milestones and making names. This inaugural event began on September 6th with the largest prize for any Live H.O.R.S.E. event in Europe. The final table competed for the 70,875 GBP first place, and the very first WSOPE Bracelet.

The first bracelet went to Thomas “Buzzer” Bihl, a German man, not brand new to poker, he has been playing for four years. He played against several well known poker pros at the final table, including 2 time WSOP Bracelet winner Jennifer Harman, one time WSOP Bracelet holder Kirk Morrison and five time WSOP bracelet winner Chris Ferguson.

Jeffrey Pollack, World Series of Poker commissioner, was quoted as saying, “We are pleased that we are establishing new records for live tournament play in Europe. Out of the gate, WSOP Europe has attracted many of the world’s greatest players – all competing to win the first WSOP bracelets ever awarded outside the United States.”

In finishing first, Thomas Bihl won £70,875 and the first ever WSOP bracelet issued outside of the USA. Jennifer Harman finished a disappointing second after relinquishing a 2 to 1 chip lead heads up and gets £40,688, third was Kirk Morrison and he got £26,250 for his efforts, Chris “Jesus” Ferguson came in fourth for £21,700, fifth place was Alex Kravchenko and he won £17,850, Yuval Bronshtein came in sixth for £14,438, seventh place was Joe Beevers and he brought home £11,812 and Gary Jones came in eighth and won £9,188.
