The European Poker Tour London Main Event begins today at 1:30 p.m GMT as 250 players sit down on Day 1A of the tournament that has already sold out its 500 seats. The EPT London has already made its introduction with five preliminary events and a party at Café de Paris in downtown London.

Here is the tournament schedule for the £5,000 + £400 main event:

Wednesday, October 1st: Day 1A will see 8 levels of play
Thursday, October 2nd: Day 1B will see 8 levels of play
Friday, October 3rd: Day 2 will continue until either 8 levels have been played or 32 players remain.
Saturday October 4th: Day 3 will continue until the final table of 8 is set.
Sunday October 5th: Day 4 will see the final table played until a champion is crowned.

After the completion of the Main Event will be the £20,000 EPT London £1,000,000 Showdown, which has a max player field of 100. Day 1 will be on October 6th and play until the final table is set, with play starting at 12:30 p.m. GMT. Day 2 will start at 1:00 p.m GMT on October 7th and the final table will be played out until a winner is determined.

Last year Joseph Mouawad of Lebanon emerged victorious at the EPT London Main Event and in doing so became the first poker player outside of the United Kingdom to win the EPT London Main Event.

Every EPT event is important due to the prestige there is to be won, and not to mention all the cash as well.
